Lucali's Pizza, Brooklyn's Famous..

We called ahead to get in this "lines down the block" pizza haven. The wait wasn't bad at all. It's BYOB so we got 2 bottles of Chianti to help us along. The place is small, nothing fancy, yet inviting. It must be the smell of the pizza baking. No menu, no credit cards, no salad.. Just pizza or calzone, and toppings if you want. $24 a pie. WORTH IT! The crust was cooked perfectly and had the right texture, crispy on the bottom. The sauce was perfection, as was the cheese, not too salty, not too bland; just a perfect blend. The basil was a bit much, but who cares? toss it off and get down to this fantastic creation of pizza.
